Rejoice in the Hope of Glory no 4

The painting is part of my on-going  “Rejoice in the Hope of Glory” series.

I ran a “Painting Give-Away” on Facebook, calling for people to send in a  photograph of an image or scene that to them represented “Hope”in some way or other.

These two brothers are playing a game in which one is determined to stack a series of glasses one on the other; an action that has both a vision and a hope of a future that is precious and precarious, yet possible.

Hope finds its existence because there is a threat of failure, of being overcome.  The other brother seems determined to not let the vision be realised – yet hope prevails even in the presence of the strong evidence of adversity.
