Mirembe Munroe 1 is the first in a is a series of 4 paintings done of wooden stools, a reflection of a transforming society, a fusion of cultures (African and American) with the hope of being able to live in a new society. A society in which we cannot lose our cultural heritage because it is so rich in so many different ways, and because our identities in many ways to a greater or lesser extent expressions thereof.
Is it possible for us to live in a society that allows us to retain our distinctly cultural individuality and yet live in a new reality of a transformed society necessitated by our common existence.
